You cannot give Windows 7 Lite a name of distinguish operating system. It can be described as the customized way of Windows 7. For designing this program to make it best compatible with the laptop industry, several feature of both Vista and Windows 7 has been bifurcated. Hence in this manner Windows 7 Lite will be able to save most of the valuable time of the processor and space on the hard disk, which in turn will deliver better performance. The program which actually lead to the development of Windows 7 Lite is Lite, which was initially discovered for the Windows Vista. But after a series of experiments developer find it much compatible with Windows 7 too.
A disadvantage of Windows 7 Lite is that it may take some longer time to get installed on your laptop due to the mess up of the Lite program with Windows setup files. Actually this happens due to the removal of too much features from normal Windows 7.
Note: It will be better if you download Lite from torrent sites, since initially it was designed for Vista, hence it will work in compatible with Windows 7 too.
