1E completes 39000 Windows 7 upgrades in a month
IT solutions company 1E claims that it has completed 39000 Windows 7 upgrades on the computers of an American company. 1E did not disclose the company’s identity but it’s reportedly a U.S.-based telecom firm.
The Windows 7 upgrades were made possible by 1E’s Nomad 2012 software. Recently, the services provided by 1E were also used by sustainability consultancy ERM to install Windows 7.
Several companies still use computers with Windows XP or Windows Vista installed on them. With the deadline for the end of support for Windows XP nearing, businesses are rushing to upgrade their systems to Windows 7.
According to Geoff Collins, head of product management at 1E,
Tens of millions of desktops haven’t updated to Windows 7. In the business sector, most people are on XP, and it is going End-of-Life.
As businesses are unlikely to move directly from Windows XP to Windows 8, it has become essential for them to upgrade to Windows 7.
