When you compare Windows Marketplace with Apple App Store and Google Play (the recently renamed Android Market for apps), you will notice that there is a shortfall of quality apps in the Windows Marketplace. To bridge the gap, some independent app developers are coming forward to develop apps that are of some use in the real sense to the users of Windows Phone devices. One such app is '4th & Mayor' that is tied with location service Foursquare.
The 4th & Mayor app has completed its one year on Windows Marketplace. Currently the version 3.3 of this app is available on Windows Marketplace. According to Jef Wilcox, the developer of this app, 4th & Mayor has been run over 8 million times since its release on Windows Marketplace. There have been over 7.5 million Foursquare logins using the app, too. He further claims that the app is used by over 60,000 people every day, with 35,000 enabling push notifications on their Windows Phones.
Wilcox plans to add more features in the year 2012, including a huge upgrade for version 3.4 of 4th & Mayor. But, till then, check out the version 3.3 of this great app in the Windows Marketplace.
