Software giant Microsoft has entered into a partnership with Good Technology to bring encrypted e-mail services to Windows Phone 7.5. Good Technology will provide FIPS-certified 192-bit AES encryption for end-to-end mobile messaging for the Windows Phone platform. This will enable secured accessing of corporate data using Good for Enterprise. Equipped with these security technologies, businesses will be able to provide their employees a significant set of choices when supporting BYOD (bring your own device) environments.
According to Susan Vinci-Lucero, senior vice president marketing of Good Technology, “It will be the BYOD market that will help to push Windows Phone 7.5 adoption. And, given how many enterprises are attached to Microsoft software, there is a chance that many firms might buy into further dependence on Microsoft, should security requirements be met.”
According to a recent report by IDC, Windows Phone is set to realize the fastest growth in the next three years at a CAGR of 69.4%, more than double the industry average.
