OnLive, which is basically known for its Cloud game-streaming services, has announced a pack of applications (that are based on Windows 7) for the iPad. The pack that is called OnLive Desktop is a simple app that can turn your iPad into a powerful Cloud-based Windows 7 computer system.
With OnLive Desktop on your iPad, you get a complete functionality of the three basic Microsoft Office applications, i.e. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
You can edit Microsoft Office documents, store and access your important files in a secure environment, and even create dynamic Microsoft PowerPoint presentations with graphics, animations, and even videos as easily as you are at the office working on a Windows 7 desktop. Not only this, you can even send Microsoft PowerPoint presentations directly from your iPad to others or run them on an external monitor. You can edit Microsoft Word documents using onscreen keyboard, drag and drop, and even pinch and zoom text content and images.
The best thing about OnLive Desktop app is that it is a completely standalone program. You get a complete Windows 7 experience on your iPad without having to deal with a VNC client, VMWare or Parallels or Mac virtualization apps and local Windows installations.
The app is available free for download from here. OnLive Desktop is expected to be launched soon for Android platform too.
