HTC has launched its range of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich handsets during the ongoing Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. As far as the Windows Phone mobile operating system is concerned, HTC is strategically preparing itself to launch a Windows Phone 8 ‘Apollo’ handset in the second half of 2012.
Kouji Kodera, chief product manager of HTC, said, “HTC has not decided on branding names or marketing points for its upcoming Windows Phone 8 ‘Apollo’ devices yet, so it is uncertain whether or not they will follow the "One [X]" Android 4.0 lineup or take on a different naming scheme entirely.”
During the recently concluded Consumer Electronics Show 2012 in Las Vegas, HTC unveiled a new Windows Phone 7.5 ‘Mango’ handset – HTC Titan II LTE – which will be launching on AT&T 4G LTE network on 18 March and worldwide on other 4G LTE networks in Q2 2012. According to industry experts, it is unlikely that HTC's new Windows 8 ‘Apollo’ devices will be any different from its existing Windows Phone lineup.
