The Lumia series, the hallmark Windows Phone handsets by handset maker Nokia, will soon be getting the Wireless Hotspot functionality. Every other Windows Phone smartphone has been enjoying this feature since the update to Windows Phone 7 ‘Mango’, but not the Lumia series.
Earlier, it was reported that the about-to-be released Nokia Lumia 610 will come equipped with this feature. But now, a report suggests that the Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 will also have that feature enabled once the new Windows Phone ‘Tango’ (also known as Windows Phone 7.5 ‘Refresh’) update is released officially. The update also appears to include the improvements to MMS, voice notes, and a new location alert icon. There is no official word from Nokia on the firmware, but a staggered roll out seems to be a common trend for Windows Phone updates. So, we would expect to see this reach all Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 handsets very soon.
If you have already purchased the Lumia 900 or are waiting for the low-end Lumia 610, then you will be pleased to know that both the devices come with the Internet Sharing feature.
