Make a BIG Difference in Windows ® 7 Taskbar Menu with a Simple Tweak
Imagine that you are traveling on the highway and are completely exhausted. You are looking to halt at a restaurant but cannot find any. Your kids sitting on the rear seat are on your nerves as they have become restless after such a long trip. You are looking for signs on the billboards to get you to the nearest restaurant. However you are not able to understand the meaning of the sign on the billboards as they have no labels. Tired and frustrated you just move on.
A World Without Labels
Isn’t this a similar situation that you face, when you have to make head and tail of icons on your Windows 7 taskbar menu? You can figure out the general icons like Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, etc. But it can be difficult to understand the icons that are associated with other programs.
When you log-in to Windows 7, the first thing that you see is the taskbar menu that is full of icons. Wouldn’t you like to change the style of the icons that are organized in the taskbar menu in order to include the label? Changing the style is not just to jazz up the menu, but to also provide you with a better way to associate each icon with its meaning.
So, if you would like to see the labels with the icons in the taskbar menu, then just follow these simple steps:-
- Choose ‘Properties’, by right-clicking on the taskbar menu
- Select ‘Taskbar buttons’
- Select the option ‘Never Combine’ and then click ‘OK’
After you have enabled this option, whenever you have multiple program windows minimized on the taskbar menu, you will be able to read the labels associated with each icon.
With just this simple tweak, you will be able to navigate easily throughout your operating system. You would know exactly which application you have to open, simply by looking at the labels and wouldn’t have to waste time trying to make sense of those icons again!
