Microsoft has revealed a couple of details about its upcoming Windows Phone 7.5 (Tango) during the ongoing Mobile World Congress at Barcelona, Spain. The latest update, which is about to be released this spring, will allow Windows Phone users to attach multiple photos, videos, or voice notes to a single SMS message. As of now, Windows Phone only allows you to attach a single photo — not video or audio — to each of your SMS messages.
Microsoft did not gave much specific details about the update release schedule, but announced that the new entry-level Windows phones, such as the Nokia Lumia 610, will come factory-installed with the software update. The existing Windows Phone 7 device owners will receive the update soon after the shipment of the entry-level Windows Phones.
Greg Sullivan of Microsoft demonstrated Windows Phone 7.5”²s upcoming SMS improvement on a Nokia Lumia 610 at the Mobile World Congress. He began by attaching two photos to a message, then showed how the menu allows you to also choose videos from your library, and to record a short voice comment that also sends along with the SMS message. In all, he attached two photos, one video, and an audio recording to a single text message.
