Microsoft has decided to extend the deadline of its marketing campaign for Windows Phone – ‘Smoked by Windows Phone’. The campaign that allows smartphone users having mobile operating system other than Windows Phone to perform several tasks and win a prize of US $1,000 and a brand new Windows Phone has been extended until 5th April. The ‘Smoked by Windows Phone’ campaign was supposed to end on 29 March.
Some minor amendments have been made by Microsoft in the rules and regulations for the participants of this challenge. As per the amended rules, Microsoft will be handsomely awarding the first 100 competitors who lose the chance to win a free Windows Phone 7.5 handset. The next 500 participants will receive a US $25 gift card that can be redeemed at the store itself.
In the United Kingdom, the ‘Smoked by Windows Phone’ challenge is organized under a different name – ‘The Lumia Challenge’. As the name suggests, the participants of this challenge will have to beat a Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone in order to grab the big prize.
