Microsoft has claimed in its new marketing campaign for Windows Phone 7 that Windows Phone-based smartphones are faster in executing common tasks than other competing smartphones in 88% of the time. The campaign named 'Smoked by Windows Phone’ has been launched as an advertisement campaign by Microsoft.
Unlike other marketing campaigns that are based on survey or test results, this campaign of Microsoft for its mobile operating system Windows Phone is based on real life experience. The campaign was introduced by Microsoft at CES 2012, which was held earlier this year in Las Vegas. At the show, Microsoft ran a promotion called ‘Smoked by Windows Phone’. In it, Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 evangelist Ben Rudolph engaged in a series of competing tasks with the owners of other branded smartphones. Rudolph promised to pay US $100 to anyone that beats his Windows Phone at performing common tasks such as uploading a photo on Facebook and finding a nearby restaurant.
