Microsoft is going to release the update for its Windows Phone 7.5 ‘Mango’ mobile operating system by a new name – Windows Phone ‘Refresh’ in April.
Windows Phone 7.5 or ‘Mango’ is Microsoft's mid and high-end smartphone operating system. As the Windows Phone ‘Refresh’ will be only a minor update to the Windows Phone 7.5 operating system, Microsoft does not want it to be called as Windows Phone 8 i.e. Windows Phone ‘Apollo’. The minor update will include a few tweaks and improvements, the most important being the lowering of system requirements. This lowering will allow Windows Phone mobile operating system to be included on low budget handsets. With this move Microsoft hopes to boost its product sales and promote Windows Phone mobile OS in emerging markets.
This new naming scheme comes from Windows Phone Italy blog, where Stefania Duico of Microsoft coined the name. To read the blog in detail, click here. Take the help of Google Translator to read it in the English language.
