Use Windows Media Center to record Live TV shows

Windows 7 not only converts your PC into a TV, it can also record live TV shows and movies so that you can enjoy them in your relaxed time. Just schedule the recording of TV programs in advance and enjoy your shopping sessions or attend your important meetings; your Windows 7 PC is recording your favorite program for you.
You can even record the program or movie while watching it. Press the ‘Record’ button on the playback control or the remote control of the Windows Media Center and record the program. The ‘Skip’ button provided on the remote control of the Windows Media Center enables you to skip the annoying commercials that play in between programs.
To record TV shows and movies in Windows Media Center, all you need is a TV Tuner and a TV signal source. TV Tuner is a device that connects to your PC through an internal expansion slot or an external expansion slot. Windows Media Center can use a number of TV signal sources such as antenna, cable TV, or satellite TV signals.
Just follow these simple steps to record a program on your Windows 7 PC.
- Click on ‘Start’.
- Then click on ‘Windows Media Center’ from ‘All Programs’.
- On the start screen of Windows Media Center, scroll to TV and then click on ‘Live TV’.
- Now using the arrow keys, select the time and the channel from the onscreen TV guide and then press ‘Enter’ to display the info screen.
- Press the ‘Record’ button to set the time to record the show.
If you want to record all the episodes of the program, click on the ‘Record Series’ button. To stop recording, click on the ‘Do not record’ button.
With Windows 7, you can now easily enjoy your favorite programs or movies anytime and anywhere you want.
