Skype® for Windows® Phone 7 to Come Soon
The Skype application for Windows Phone platform is expected to make its debut at the Mobile World Congress that is scheduled to take place at Barcelona, Spain during the end of this month.
The Skype app on Windows Phone platform is expected to adopt the Metro style guidelines of Microsoft, that include a two column grid to display contacts. According to reports, Microsoft's initial release of Skype will be a standalone application, with People Hub integration expected in Windows Phone 8 i.e. Apollo.
Though there is no official word either from Microsoft or Skype about the exact date of release of Skpye on Windows Phone 7, a Skype spokesperson is reported to comment that “people are eager to see Skype on Windows Phone – so are we,” and asked the media world and common people to “stay tuned.” On the other hand, a representative from Microsoft declined to comment on the report.
Skype was acquired by Microsoft last year at a price of US $8.5 billion. So, people are more curious to know what Microsoft would do with Skype after spending such a huge amount.
