Check the latest traffic conditions on Windows Phone Maps
The Windows Phone Maps app now includes the ‘Show Traffic’ feature through which you can check the latest traffic conditions in your area. This feature has been introduced by Microsoft for Windows Phone in collaboration with Nokia. In May 2012, Microsoft had added Nokia’s “Where” platform to Bing Maps.
Windows Phone users will be able to track the traffic flow and congestion conditions on the Maps app. To access the feature, open Maps, expand the menu and tap ‘Show Traffic’. The roads where the traffic flow is smooth are marked in green. The congested roads are displayed in yellow and orange, and traffic jam areas are marked in red. The service has been presently started in the United States and will shortly be started in other countries as well.
In the next few weeks, the Windows Phone Maps traffic conditions feature will be launched in some cities of Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
