Trapster, the social network app that has designed to alert the user of speed traps and other hazards while traveling on the road, is all set to hit the Windows Marketplace. The Trapster app is quite popular and it relies on a network of 15 million users.
The users of Trapster app submit their speed traps, enforcement cameras, and road hazards on the Trapster network using their handsets. The Trap alerts are then flashed to all Trapster users in the area. You can call it a high-tech version of flashing your headlights to alert oncoming motorists of the potential road hazards that you have witnessed while coming from the direction on which the others are going.
The app was removed from iOS App Market after some law makers argued that the app was just a tool for drunk drivers to evade checkpoints, and putting safe drivers and themselves in danger. But, it is now back on the App Market.
The services of Trapster network can also be accessed through their website at Trapster.com. It is expected that the driving app will be available on the Windows Phone Marketplace within a couple of days.
