Software giant Microsoft Corporation has released a minor update to its Windows Live Essentials 2011 suite of programs, which includes Windows Live Messenger, Mail, Photo Gallery, Windows Movie Maker, Family Safety (parental controls), Writer (a blogging tool), and Live Mesh (the PC-sync tool formerly known as Live Sync). It is advisable to install this new update at the earliest as it comes with critical fixes.
“Today, we released an update for Windows Live Essentials 2011 in all 48 languages. This minor release includes numerous updates across all of the programs in the Essential package, including Windows Live Messenger, Mail, Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, Family Safety, Writer, and Mesh,” comments Steven Abrahams, Lead Program Manager – Windows Live in his blog post.
The previous update to Windows Live Essentials 2011 was rolled out by Microsoft in two phases starting last summer. At that time, the update includes Photo Gallery, Mail, Windows Movie Maker, Messenger, Writer, Family Safety, Live Mesh, the Bing Toolbar, Microsoft Office Outlook Connector, Office Live Add-in, and Microsoft Silverlight. The products in the Windows Live Essentials suite are an amalgamation of software and services.
The new versions of the above-mentioned applications are available for users of Windows 2008 R2, Windows Vista SP2, and Windows 7 operating systems. If you wish to download the update now, click here.
