Windows Phone developer summit to be held in June
Microsoft will hold its Windows Phone developer summit on June 20 and 21 in San Francisco, California. The company has started sending the “Save the Date” invitations to Windows Phone developers. Through this summit, Microsoft will select Windows Phone programmers.
According to a representative of Microsoft, “You should expect a formal registration process as with most events. Will have more details in the coming weeks.” Although, Microsoft has not officially announced the topics that will be discussed at the summit, developers are expecting that the company will reveal details regarding the Windows Phone OS 8.
The new Windows Phone 7 operating system that will be launched later in 2012 is code-named Apollo. It is also expected that Microsoft will divulge further plans for the Windows Phone 7.5 Tango update that was released to support low-end handsets. The Windows Phone developer summit could also clear the air regarding speculation whether or not the existing Windows Phone devices will be upgraded to the Windows Phone 8 operating system.
