The first smartphone from Sony that will run on Windows Phone 7 platform is anticipated to be launched during the Mobile World Congress, which is scheduled to begin from 26 February at Barcelona.
The rumors of Sony developing a Windows Phone were making rounds since early 2011. Even Sony has not ruled out the possibility, indicating that it was waiting to see how Windows Phone performs in the smartphone market. But, now it seems to be clear that the fans of Sony products will soon see an actual product.
The basis of the latest talks is an image, which is supposed to be that of Sony-based Windows Phone, codenamed “Julie”. The prototype sports the same slider form factor that was seen in the initial leaked images during last year.
The latest screenshot release, as seen above, shows the phone open and facing up on the left side, and the phone open and faced down on the right side, exposing a metallic backing. The released image also shows that Sony has changed the keyboard design.
