Windows Server 2012 to be released on September 4
Microsoft has released Windows Server 2012 to manufacturing and it will be available to the public from September 4 onwards. The new software will be unveiled by the company at an online launch event. It’s basically the server edition of Windows 8 and succeeds Windows Server 2008 R2. Windows Server 2012 includes several new features and performance enhancements.
Referring to the September 4 launch date, Jeffrey Snover, who is the Lead Architect for the Windows Server Division, states that:

Earlier Microsoft had announced that Windows Server 2012 will be available in four editions – Standard, Datacenter, Essentials, and Foundation. IT administrators who have a Windows Phone can use the Windows Server 2012 Essentials app to manage their servers. This will help them to monitor servers on the go.
