XenDesktop updated for Windows® 7 support
To extend its support for Windows 7 systems, Citrix Systems has updated its XenDesktop virtualisation platform. Citrix Systems has released XenDesktop 5.6, with some added features and bug fixes from XenDesktop 5.5.
XenDesktop is a desktop virtualization solution that transforms Windows desktops and applications into an on-demand service available to any user, from anywhere, and on any system. With XenDesktop installed on your Windows 7 system, you can securely deliver individual Windows, web and SaaS applications, or full virtual desktops, to PCs, Macs, tablets, smartphones, laptops and thin clients with a high-definition user experience.
Citrix System claims that the XenDesktop 5.6 release is specially developed to allow administrators to migrate all of their virtual desktop instances to the latest version of Windows without any much hassle. The company believes that with businesses looking to move to Windows 7 systems, many customers can also introduce managed, virtualized systems for end users.
