If you have a Windows phone ( version 7.5 or higher), finding points of interest near you is not a difficulty with your Local Scout. But what if you are at a place where Bing’s coverage is not effectively supplied. Here comes the need for yapf. It is a POI (point of interest) finder that helps you in locating POIs with Google Maps and Augmented Reality.
yapf (yet another POI finder) is the third software that has been created for path finding for OpenTTD. The first one, New Train Pathfinding, works only for trains. The second, New Global Pathfinding, works for all vehicles, but it bogs down if too many vehicles are built. yapf is an advanced software that can be optimized very precisely and can also tolerate a lot of CPU load.
In order to facilitate POI finding, the application has been composed of four different pages:
1. Augmented Reality page: Here, you can see your points of interest through your phone camera.
2. Categories page: Here you can custom search for specific categories with the search button.
3. Results page: You can see the results on this page. Afterwards, you can tap on the results or show results on a map.
4. Map page: Here, you get directions, view itineraries and show results on a map.
The application has an extremely user-friendly interface. When you open the application, you are presented with lists of different places and facilities you may need to find, including ATMs, gas stations, hotels, bars, hospitals, and supermarkets around you.
You can choose the list of facilities you want to locate and you will be shown a list of them nearest to you. If you need to locate a particular facility every now and then, you can pin the list to the top of your start screen. When you click on a particular POI that you want to visit, you will be shown different routes that can take you there, including walking routes and driving routes. You can even add the POI to your favorites list, or share it via e-mail or SMS. The best thing about yapf is that it is available absolutely for free.
