Windows® 7 print management
Windows 7 has introduced improvements in Windows printing for an enhanced reliability for print users. The feature further increases the flexibility for IT administrators as it provides better network of print resources.
Microsoft latest operating system includes improved features including print migration enhancement, printer driver isolation, print management snap-in improvements, client-side rendering performance improvements, and XML paper specification print path improvements. Location aware printing has also been introduced keeping in view the end-users.
Though print migration wizard was also introduced in Windows Vista, the feature in Windows 7 offers greater flexibility and advanced error handling. The configuration information can be restored for print servers in backup. Earlier, printer driver component failure was one of the support issue. Windows 7 also supports print drivers. The user can also prevent a faulty printer driver to perform printing function, as he can configure printer driver component to work in isolation, separate from the printer spooler process.
Windows 7 Print management snap-in improvement provides you improved printing system stability as it allows you to manage your print servers and print drivers better. You can view all the installed print drivers on your network. With increased CSR frequency, the overall printing performance has been improved which in turn also reduces network load.
With XPS, your data can be preserved through complete print system. It also helps you to replace the document presentation language, a print spooler format and a page description language. The default printer setting introduced in Windows 7 is location aware. The user can connect to different network as a default printer which allows the user to access the printer from different location. You can set the default printer for home and a different default printer set for office use. Once you have done this, your laptop will automatically select the required default printer.
