The Internet Connection Sharing operates in standalone mode or full mode in Windows 7. Wireless Hosted Network always operate in standalone mode by default. This mode uses DHCPv4 for getting IPv4 addresses for connection devices. Here Network communication is restricted to only sending and receiving data packets. Full mode uses DHCPv4 for getting IPv4 and Ipv6 addresses for connection devices.
