- Tips to Remove
There are mainly four types of permissions: Full Control, Change, Read and No Access. Full Control lets users change file permissions. Change lets users create folders and add files, as well as modify and add file data. Read lets the user to see the names of folders and files, see file data and attributes, run program files, and browse within folders. No Access only allows the user to connect to the shared folder.
Tips to Set and View
It is recommended to create a user account and password for each person who wants to be able to access files. It is also necessary to see whether they will access the files from their own account on the same computer or from another computer on the network. If the user creates the accounts using each user's existing network login username and password, the file-sharing computer will recognize the users when they connect and will not prompt them for a password.
For the removal of security permissions, click 'Start', and then click 'My Documents' and select the folder or files that you want to set permissions for. To select multiple files and folders, hold down the 'CTRL' key on the keyboard and click each file. Right-click the selected folders and files, and then click 'Properties'. Then click on the Security tab. Now click 'Advanced' tab. In the Security dialog box, click 'Copy' and In the Permission entries list, click 'Administrators'. Click 'Remove'. Click 'OK'.
