Estimating Netscape® with Windows® 7
Netscape is a web browser whose latest version, which is compatible with the new Windows 7, has been released. The latest version includes a host of widgets which are designed primarily to improve the browsing experience of its users. Such widgets contain the local weather related information, reviews and movie times, MapQuest maps, yellow pages, white pages, stocks, and a city guide etc. All these widgets are merged into the menu enabled toolbar buttons.
Windows 7 Netscape carries several features, which include the automatic correction of the URL's. Also, it has the ability to correct up to 30 different types of common mistakes. Various smaller features are included in it, like when a text is selected a shortcut menu appears, which allows to paste the selected text as soon as possible into a search engine of your choice.
A webmail button is added to its toolbar, which can link directly to several webmail homepages and is simple to use with multiple webmail accounts. A button which is used to run the user's default mail client has also been included in its new release. The icons in Navigator's address bar allows the user to search for and share the interesting stories. Also, they can vote on stories shared by others.
A new addition in this browser under the News menu, is the latest news which is built right into the browser. This menu can be customized to contain only the news sections which you want to monitor and it is provided by Netscape.com. Now, you can also share your views with the world. In the previous versions of this, and several other browsers, you were only able to have the bookmarks open in the sidebar. Now, this functionality has been improved to include all the links, and not just the bookmarks. For experiencing an easier split screened browsing, a navigation toolbar has been added to the sidebar of this browser. You need to right click on a link and select the option named open link in sidebar for getting started. Navigator 9 uses the same architecture as of the latest Mozilla technologies, as such it will allow the Firefox compatible extensions to be installed.
Finally, a pop up advertisement blocker has been included in this browser, that can be configured for allowing the pop ups for individual sites, supports blocking the unrequested pop ups only, and also to prevent the pop unders, you can open any pop ups in new tabs in a single window.
The bookmarks and history are the self explanatory sidebars. Your friends’ activities can be seen with the help of Netscape Friends’ Activity. The latest site updates can be tracked by the Netscape Tracker and the news post can be tracked using the Netscape News. Also, a mini browser sidebar in which two tabs can be opened simultaneously will be highly appreciated by the non Netscape.com users. One of Navigator’s new tricks is that the drag and drop will add a URL, and clicking on the saved link will open it in a new tab. Toolbar icons which can be added by the user are included in the sidebar.
