Windows 7: Change Start Menu items to expanded menus
Here is an easy way in which you can better organize the Start menu on your Windows 7-based PC. If the current view of the menu displays the items present therein as links, you can modify their appearance and make them appear as expanded menus. As you are aware, expanded menus give a better idea of the different folders that are available in the menu items. This will also enable you to enjoy a one-click access to files and documents available in the Start menu items.
The easy step solution that you can follow on your Windows 7-based PC is as:
1. Right click the ‘Start’ menu and then click on ‘Properties’.
2. In the Start menu tab, click on the ‘Customize’ button.
3. If you want to expand the Control Panel, select the ‘Display as a menu’ under Control Panel and click on ‘OK’.
4. Click on ‘Ok’ again.
Wasn’t that simple? Now you can use the same steps to expand the menu of all the other items present in the Start menu of your PC. At a later time, if you feel the need to roll back to the link view for the specific item or you want to completely remove the item from the Start menu itself, you can easily access these options as mentioned above and select the particular option that suits your requirements.
