New Features in Windows® 7
Microsoft has designed Windows 7 to address several problems being faced by the users regarding performance, device compatibility, reliability and security. These five features have been added to provide enhanced users experience and make everyday tasks easier.
Make File Management Easy with Libraries
In order to manage their documents, music, pictures and other folders or files in Windows 7, users will have to go to Libraries. Libraries are an integral part of Windows PowerShell in Windows 7. Integration is necessary because it lets user to browse their files the same way they would in a folder. User can search files by date, type and author in both Windows Explorer and the Common File Dialog.
Windows 7 Library allows you to have full control over the Documents Library folder. The user can determine which folders should be included in the Documents Library, as the system adds these folders in index so that he can quickly search these folders.
Library is as same as a folder. The tool shows one or more files or folders. A different but considerable feature of Library is that it can display files that are stored in different folders at the same time. It handles the folders that contain user's data and provides the user a single access point of folders.
Easy to access features with Jump List
Jump List offers several privileges such as to launch a file or access a task without actually starting a program and additionally it doesn't occupy much space on the taskbar and is automatically organized. The user can have access to many destinations without the need to customize the UI. The Jump List can show the lot of text for each of its items.
You can simply pin to the list, just by keeping the required destination around. By default, the menu contains the program's shortcut, the ability to toggle pinning and the ability to close Windows. The programs could easily replace the default MRU (Most Recently Used) list with a system-maintained MFU (Most Frequently Used) list. Custom destination list can also be easily provided by the programs. It has many customizable parts that are different across different applications.
Windows 7 works smarter and provides you with the option to get everything back as you were used to in earlier versions. Microsoft has integrated several welcome Features in Windows 7, including an improved user interface. One of the innovative changes that you would immediately notice is the new and improved taskbar. It has been dramatically changed. Taller taskbar, squared icons and some other features have resulted in a tidy visual experience.
There is no quick launch any more. In Windows 7, you can drag any of the programs to the taskbar. You also get the freedom to rearrange the icons on the taskbar just by clicking and dragging. User experience has been further made interesting by adding some extra features. When you move over your cursor on the icons, you will see thumbnails of every file that is open in that program, and if you move the cursor over the thumbnail, you will be able to see a full-screen preview of that window.
Run application as another user
In earlier versions, to run as a another user was not very easy but you can work as another user with simpler notifications in Windows 7. You just have to right click on any application while holding down the shift key and then you can choose to run as another user.
Less annoying User Account Control
One of the selling points of Windows 7 is the more flexible and less irritating User Account Control. Microsoft has reduced the actions that prompt you; resulting in making it less annoying for the users.
User Account Control prevents your computer against hackers and defend it against malicious software. UAC asks the user for the permission, if any program wants to make any changes to your computer. UAC is more elastic in Windows 7 than in Windows Vista. Now, every task don't require your consent in Windows 7 and if you have administrator privileges, from the control panel you can easily fine tune to UAC's notification settings.
