CMD Windows® 7 Or Windows® 7 Commands
CMD Windows 7 or a.k.a Windows 7 commands prompt provides access to more than 100 command line utilities. Well we know the use of command prompt is not popular now a days where everyone loves to work with a graphic interface (GUI). But you should not forget the importance of command prompt, imagine your system is in no boot situation and you'll have to troubleshoot it with Command prompt.
Windows 7 commands are almost similar to MS-DOS. CMD Windows 7 enables you to automate processes, create batch files and perform troubleshooting and much more. There are some beautiful commands that can make you job easier with Windows 7.
Let's quickly go through these commands and see what they do.
Go to all programs >Accessories> Command Prompt. Or you can simply type cmd in the search box and press enter.
ARP - It allows you to change or displays entries in the ARP cache. Using the command you can change the or display entries in the ARP cache.
Imagex - Imagex deletes all the resources associated with a mounted image that has been left out.
FastOpen - It allows you to add any program's hard drive location to a special list stored in memory.
Assoc - It displays or changes the file type associated with a particular file extension.
Attrib - It's a useful command for changing the attributes of a single file or a directory.
Bootcfg - This utility is used to create, modify, or view the contents of the boot.ini file, a hidden file that is used to keep information of OS, like on which partition, Windows is installed.
Convert - This is a handy command line utility that transforms FAT or FAT32 formatted partitions to the NTFS format.
Xcopy - With this command you can copy more than one files or directory trees from one place to another.
Ipconfig - This utility basically used in a network environment, ipconfig command is used to get detailed IP information for each of the network adapter utilizing TCP/IP. It can also be used to release and renew IP addresses on system.
Nslookup - The nslookup is generally used to display the hostname of an IP address. It can also be used while troubleshooting DNS.
Relog - It is used to create new performance logs from data in existing performance logs.
