Features of Quickbooks on Windows® 7
Get to know more about the features of QuickBooks® and its compatibility with Windows 7
It is a business accounting software developed and marketed by Intuit. QuickBooks® was popular among small business owners who had no formal accounting training, as such, the software soon claimed up to 80 percent of the small business accounting software market and it still continues to command the vast majority of this market. It sought to bridge the gap with accounting professionals, eventually providing full audit trail capabilities, double-entry accounting functions and increased functions. Small businesses are the main users of QuickBooks® for most financially-related business processes, from entering sales receipts, tracking expenses, preparing and sending invoices, sales tax tracking and payment, preparation of basic financial statements and reports, purchase order processing, and inventory management. QuickBooks® 2010 is their latest release as of now and it comes in three different versions namely Pro, Premier and Enterprise Solutions. However, they have a very complicated QuickBooks® setup because for the most part, QuickBooks® is not backwards-compatible.
The following points discuss the features about QuickBooks® in Windows 7 Edition:
The only version of QuickBooks® that is compatible with Windows 7 is the QuickBooks® 2010 Pro, Premier and Enterprise Solutions. Albeit QuickBooks® 2009 and earlier versions will install successfully on Windows 7, Intuit's technical support for Windows 7 is limited to QuickBooks® 2010 products only. However, if your version of QuickBooks® is older than 2010 that is if it is 2007, 2008 or 2009 Edition, you will be informed by a prompt that your version is not supported on Windows 7.
The Installation procedure for QuickBooks® 2010 is same as their previous versions. It can be installed on any Windows operating system but it can be run only on Windows 7 as it has been specifically designed for it. You just have to find the setup file and double click on it. Rest of the procedures will be done by the software automatically. However, they have a very complicated QuickBooks® setup because for the most part, QuickBooks® is not backwards-compatible.
It does not offer an option to email with Windows Live Mail as QuickBooks® 2010 is designed to send email messages with Microsoft Outlook or the built-in QuickBooks® Email service only. It does not open again after turning off Internet Explorer 8 and the Google Desktop also stops responding. Scripting error appears when using Live Community search on the computer. Intuit's technical support will not be available to assist with issues you experience if you are using sunsetted QuickBooks® versions on Windows 7.
