About Aero Shake
Aero Shake is a feature in Windows 7 that allows you to minimize all running Windows except the one which you are working on. Aero Shake allows users to clear up any clutter on their screen by shaking, that is, by dragging back and forth a window of their choice with the mouse. All other windows might get minimized, while the window the user shook stays active on the screen. When the window is shaken again, they all get restored, similar to desktop preview.
Enabling Aero Shake
To enable Aero Shake, go to Control Panel and take System and Security. There click on 'Advanced system settings' on the left and then the 'Performance settings'. Under the visual effects tab you might see the option 'Let windows choose what's best for my computer' which is by default checked. Below it you see a list of visual effects, some of which might be unchecked if you are not experiencing the full range of Aero features. Select the custom option and then select Aero Shake from the list below it. Hit 'Apply' and 'Ok' and you will have Aero Shake enabled then.
When you first install Windows 7 you might not have Aero Shake features enabled. Before enabling Aero Shake features, make sure that you have the drivers for your graphics card installed. Sometimes you might only have partial aero effects. This might be because Windows might not think your machine is powerful enough to run these effects without affecting performance. But it would not stop you from enabling.
