Afterwards run a cleaning disk in the drive and try system restore by restoring the system to an earlier date’s settings. Change the BIOS settings to the DVD ROM drive and check whether the system boots from it or not. If it does not than delete the registry keys for upper and lower filters and then try to reinstall Windows 7 from the installation disk.
Wrong volume in the drive
When installing Windows 7 from the installation disk, the screen where Windows starts expanding an error is displayed stating “wrong volume in the drive”. This issue occurs when the system is unable to see the RAID volume and to resolve the issue there are few steps to follow, Download the matrix storage manager package from Intel’s site. Move the download to the root file into ‘C’ drive. The file will be stored as “C:\IATA89ENU.exe.Click on start, run and type in the command: c:\IATA89ENU.exe -a -a -pc:\” .Extract the drivers that come in and put it in the installation disk drive. The installation will be able to see the RAID volume.
The installation hangs while starting Windows
When installing Windows 7 on the system sometimes the Windows gets stuck on the starting screen. There are few processors which have settings to turn on or off the hyper threading feature. To resolve the issue one must ensure that the hyper threading feature is on .If the hyper threading is on the Windows 7 installation must continue.
