  4.

@Linda… First you need to check if your Printer model number is compatible with windows 7 or not.
For this please visit Microsoft’s windows 7 section, there you have a list of all windows 7 compatible devices.

I have just upgraded my acer aspire 5536G from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium. Lately, when i have been playing computer games (Eg. Call of Duty World at War), i have been experiencing slow down in frame rate from about 240 fps all the way to 1 or even 0 fps! This has never happened before. I ran the anti-virus scan and disk defrag but it is still a nogo.

There are certain issues pertaining to VLC for windows 7. Download the new VLC 1.0.0 Goldeneye then access Tools> Video > change output to ‘OpenGL video output’.

    This should help

      Hi Rehan,

The computer performance may drop because of several reasons. Following are few maintenance steps that you may perform:
1)Delete temporary files from the computer. Do the following:
a.Click Start>Run , type Temp and delete all the files
b.Click Start>Run , type %Temp% and delete all the files
c.Click Start>Run , type prefetch and delete all the files
2)Optimize internet explorer. Use the following link to do the same: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936213
3)Disable unwanted startup items (these are programs which load up during the startup and keep on running in the background), if there are too many programs in the startup list, it may slow down the computer. To disable startup items and supporting services do the following:
a.Click Start>Run> , type msconfig and press enter
b.Disable unwanted startup items from the startup tab
c.Go to the services tab and check the box ‘hide all Microsoft services’. From the list of rest of the items, uncheck the unwanted ones.
d.Apply and Close and restart the computer
Note: If you are unsure of a startup item or service search about it on the internet. One of the sites where you could find the information is http://www.sysinfo.org/
4)Remove unwanted programs from add remove programs
      5)Run disk clean up: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310312
6)You may also want to run disk defragmenter on the computer(preferably run it from safe mode) : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314848

Following article should help you in fixing the sound problem: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/help/no-sound-in-windows

The problem seems to be with explorer.exe
      Try the following:
      1) press ctrl+shift+esc. You would get the task manager
      2) click on the application tab on the top
      3) click on new task button on the bottom right
      4) type explorer.exe and click ‘ok’
      your desktop should be there.

      All the best!!!

Hi, I also have windows 7 home premium. Recently I bought a software program and have downloaded it. The problem I am having is it won’t open completey. I can see the left half of the program but not the other. I have tried several different tactics but none have worked. I contacted the creator and have had a few emails from them suggesting I do this and this and that, but they haven’t worked. Any suggestions?

I have Windows 7 home Premium. on both desktop and Laptop operating systems.
I keep getting the error 0×80070035 when trying to set up a home network. Says it is the wrong path and cannot find the other computer. Afraid I don’t have restore points back far enough. What repair utility might be available?

      **********************************************************************
The reasons for the system being slow could include:
      - Too many programs running (including some that start automatically when the system starts up and keep running in the background)
      - Too many temporary files that get created while you use programs or browse the internet
      - Inadequate RAM
      - Malicious software infection (virus etc)

You can follow the steps given in http://www.askiyogi.com/windows/5415.html
