Windows® 7 Slow File Sharing
Get to know more about sharing files over network in Windows 7.
Networking is an important feature of any workplace that needs computers for working. The most important advantage of networking is that the files in different computers in a building can be easily shared with each other. Moreover the file sharing between the computers in a LAN is very fast when compared to the file transfer speed from a computer to a storage device like USB drive and CD ROM. So networking is very essential for the process of transferring files among many users. In order to make the computers share the files in a network, it is essential for them to have the same operating system. If different operating systems are used on different systems, the process of file sharing may become very tough. As many people use Windows, many networks use Windows 7 as the OS now. Most of the LAN networks work fine with Windows 7 OS. This is because, for installing a network using the systems that are working on Windows 7, no special knowledge is needed. The steps for setting up the network are well defined in the HELP section of the Windows 7 OS. So this OS of Microsoft Windows has become an imminent OS for file sharing among the computers in a network.
RDC- A Vital Reason for Slow File Sharing
Remote Differential Compression (RDC) is helpful in checking whether some changes are made over some set of files. In case any such changes are detected, RDC can find out the particular section of the files that has alterations. The alterations like removals, inclusion, change in the arrangement of the information in the files, etc. can also be found out by RDC. This helps in repeating the sections of the files that have undergone change. This in turn helps when there is a need to replicate the files a network which can be a LAN or WAN.
