In a post published by Gizmo's Freeware, detailed steps are given about how to change the default location of personal folders in Windows 7. Here’s what you need to do.
- First of all, open theÂ ‘Start’Â menu and open the User folder by clicking the user name.
- Now right-click the Windows 7 personal folder for which you want to change the location and click ‘Properties’.
- Click the tab ‘Location’.
- Click the ‘Move’ option.
- Navigate to the location that you want to choose for saving the personal folder.
Once you have changed the location of your personal folders, you can revert to the default path by using the ‘Restore Default’ option. Windows 7 personal folders that can be redirected include Contacts, Desktop, My Documents, My Pictures, My Music, My Videos, Downloads, Favorites, Links, etc.
