Command prompt is used to perform recovery-related operations.
Master boot record (MBR)
The Master Boot Record or MBR is the information in the first sector of hard disk or a diskette which identifies how and where an operating system is located. So that MBR can be loaded or booted into the computer's main storage or random access memory (RAM). It is sometimes called as partition sector or master partition table. In addition to this, MBR also includes a program which reads the boot sector record of the partition containing the operating system to be booted into RAM.
