Windows® 7 Boot Restore
What is the function of Master Boot Record (MBR) in Windows 7? What are the different issues related to MBR in Windows 7 and how can these be resolved?
Master Boot Record(MBR) is located in the first sector of the hard disk. It is a simple program run during the system boot up process. It could be used to hold partition table for the hard disk. It allows the Bootstrapping operating systems after the system BIOS passes execution to machine code. MBR is used to identify the individual disk media with a 32-bit disk signature. Master Boot Record contains two structures, Master Partition Table and Master Boot Code. Master Partition Table is a small bit of code which is the complete description of the partitions that are contained on the hard disk. Master Boot Code is also a small bit of code that the BIOS loads and executes to start the boot process.
