During the installation you would be prompted to select the drive on which you want to install the Operating system and you would be given an option to format the selected drive. If you want to format any drive apart from the one to which the Operating system is installed, you can right click on the drive and select 'Format' and you would be prompted to select the file system. Once click on 'Start', it formats the drive. You can also format a drive by use 'Disk management' tool. Format command can be executed with the drive letter and valid switches from the command prompt to format a drive.
