Advantages and Benefits of Multiple Partition
Resizing Windows 7 Partition:
The first thing to do is to open the Disk Management utility in your computer. Disk Management can be opened by typing in “Create and format” in the search bar or it can be easily accessed by clicking “Computer ManagementèStorageèDisk Management” option in your control panel. All the partitions of your computer’s hard disk will be listed and all you need to do is to right click on the partition you want to resize. There are two options, either you can “shrink” or “extend” your partition space. Choose the option you prefer and enter the values in the column that appears thereafter.
Creating a New Windows 7 Partition:
There are two different ways of creating a new Windows 7 partition. One option is to use the Disk Management and other method is to use Diskpart in the Command prompt. Since we are familiar with Disk Management, we shall learn only this method right now. The first step is to open Disk Management Utility. The next step is to right click the “Unallocated volume” and then “New Simple Volume”. The steps that follow are user friendly and finally you shall enter the amount of space you need in your new partition. Also, the partition should be named by a letter of your choice (Except the ones which are being used to refer the existing partition). Finish all these procedures and thus you have created a new Windows 7 partition.
Advantages And Benefits Of Having Multiple Partitions:
Disk partition has lot of advantages and benefits. The first and foremost is that you can install two Operating Systems (for example, Windows 7 and Windows Vista ) simultaneously. The advantage here is that even if one of your operating system fails, you can still use your computer with the other OS. The overall performance of the computer is increased because small file systems i.e. partitions are more effective. Protecting and recovering the files becomes much easier in case of multiple partitions.
