Read on to know more about the description of Windows 7 virtual PC settings.
Windows Virtual PC is the newest Microsoft virtualization technology for the innovative operating system Windows 7. It can be defined as a runtime engine for Windows XP mode to provide a virtual Windows environment for Windows 7 operating system. With Windows Virtual PC, Windows XP mode applications can be seen and accessed from a Windows 7 oriented PC. There are certain minimum requirements for getting the service from Virtual PC in Windows 7 such as minimum of 1 GHz processor is required for both 32-bit 64-bit versions. The RAM shall be of 1.25 GB minimum and usually 2 GB is preferred. The minimum recommended hard disk space per virtual Windows environment is 15 GB. The Virtual PC settings support editions such as Windows 7 Home Basic, Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 7 Professional, and Windows 7 Ultimate.
Following are the some of the options in Windows 7 virtual PC settings as given below:
- Undo Disk
It is one of the important options in the Virtual PC settings as the user can modify the memory (RAM) used by the virtual machine that is using. It is possible to click on the Memory field which appears on the right side and it can be changed by typing the desired amount to use. For Windows 7 operating system, the default memory is 1.25 GB. If the user wishes to be faster when using multiple applications it is better to use the 2 GB memory option depending on the amount of free memory that is available on the system.
The feature of Undo Disk permits the user to store the changes that are made to a virtual machine in a separate file. Generally this setting is common for all virtual hard disks that are all combined with the virtual machine. The user can enable or disable Undo Disks from the Settings Windows by clicking on the Undo Disks option and check or uncheck the small checkbox from the right side of the window to enable or disable.
In the networking option of the Virtual PC settings, it is possible for the user to select a number of network adapters that are all required to use. It is a fact that the user shall not need more than one network adapter by the default setting. Thus, it can be seen as a flexible option to have in the settings.
