Installing and Enabling Windows® DreamScene in Windows® 7
What is Windows DreamScene? How can it be installed and enabled in Windows 7?
Windows Vista has been provided with a number of features to enhance the user experience. One of these features is the Windows DreamScene, a new way to customize the look of your system. It is the latest Windows feature, which will allow the system to add more effects to your Windows system desktop. These effects include slideshow, video clip, picture, movie show and animated image etc. All these can be set as desktop background by using the feature called Windows DreamScene. Thus, you can get rid of static image backgrounds on your desktop. These tasks are simplified and you can get more visual effects in your system with this feature. Windows DreamScene has been disabled in the Windows 7 system. However, you can still use it by installing and enabling it in your system.
Some ways to install and enable Windows DreamScene in Windows 7:
- Install Windows DreamScene
- Enable using Windows Update
- Enable using Personalize option
Install Windows DreamScene
You can install Windows DreamScene in your Windows 7 system. To do this, you need to download the Windows 7-dreamscene.exe from the Windows website. It will copy the necessary files and merge the required Windows DreamScene registry entries and keys. Then, you need to run the Windows7-dreamscene.exe as Administrator. It will copy folders like DreamScene.dll to %WinDir%System32 folder and DreamScene.dll.mui to %WinDir%System32en-US folder in your system automatically. All the required registry entries are also added along with it. Thus, Windows DreamScene would be installed in your Windows 7 system completely.

To do this, you need to double-click the 'Windows Update' icon and select the 'View Available Extras' text placed below the 'Windows Ultimate Extras"'section.
